Château Carbonneau La Verrière Rouge 2020 is a distinguished red wine from the Sainte-Foy-Bordeaux appellation in southwest France. Named after the estate’s elegant Napoleon III conservatory, this wine exemplifies the château’s commitment to quality and tradition.
Winemaking Process: The grapes are destemmed & crushed before vatting. The grapes used for this cuvée require more extraction to enable the best balance between intensity of the fruit & structure of the tannins. Aged 12 months in new french oak.
Grape Composition: 20% Merlot and 80% Cabernet Sauvignon
Accolades: Awarded 89 points for the 2020 vintage, with notes that the firm tannins currently dominate the black fruit flavors, suggesting that the wine will achieve better balance with further aging, ideally reaching its peak from 2025 onward.
Tasting Notes: The wine appearance is a deep garnet color with a beautiful depth. Aroma is complex bouquet featuring ripe wild berries, blackcurrant, and well-integrated oak nuances. For the Palate it has full-bodied with a long, toasty finish, evoking flavors of light tobacco, licorice, and mocha.
