Georges Duboeuf Morgon Jean-Ernst Descombes 2018 Red Wine – Beaujolais France

S$55.00

An outstanding winegrower, Jean Ernest Descombes was also a gifted vinifier. Three quarters of his vines were over 50 years old and were planted in the best “terroirs”. A deep crimson wine with a nose that initially offers floral aromas (violets), which then opens up to reveal fruity aromas (blackcurrant, raspberries, wild peach). A harmonious Morgon with a delightful blackcurrant flavour, this wine is very representative of its appellation.

About Les Vins Georges Duboeuf

Les Vins Georges Duboeuf was established in 1964, and is one of the largest and best-known wine merchants in France. The founder, Georges Duboeuf himself is almost single-handedly responsible for popularizing the annual Beaujolais Nouveau phenomenon.

What is not commonly known is that Georges created a group of producers, “L’Ecrin Maconnais-Beaujolais”, that represented over 40 winemakers from all appellations of the region.
This allowed him to offer wines that reflected the great diversity of the surrounding vineyards.
