Great Earl – Single Grain Irish Whisky

S$102.50

Great Earl Single Grain Irish Whiskey is a tribute to Hugh “The Great Earl” O’Neill, a prominent Irish general who played a pivotal role in the Battle of Kinsale in 1601. Crafted by the Kinsale Spirit Company in County Cork, this whiskey is a blend of recharred-barrel grain Irish whiskey and virgin oak grain. It undergoes a maturation process of 45 months, followed by a minimum of 3 months in ex-Sangiovese wine casks sourced from the Lazio region of Italy, a nod to the final resting place of the Great Earl in the Vatican in Rome.
40% ABV, 70cl
The nose opens with a sweet, candy-like aroma layered with vanilla, buttery marzipan, and subtle woody undertones from the cask influence. On the palate, it delivers a vibrant mix of ripe blackberry and honey, balanced by a touch of tartness and a delicate sharpness. Notes of elderberry, a hint of white pepper spice, and light tannins from the Sangiovese wine cask finish add depth and complexity. The whiskey concludes with a creamy mouthfeel, a medium body, and a smooth, satisfying finish.
