Named for the Trinca Bolotas Alentejano pig native to Portugal which is the only surviving grazing pig in Europe and a cherished symbol of the region’s cuisine and heritage. On the nose, there are vibrant aromas of red fruits and floral notes. On the palate, it is well-balanced, with smooth tannins and a lively, refreshing acidity. With its smooth tannins and enormous balance, this wine pairs wonderfully with light dishes, such as poultry and pasta, as well as with sausages, ham and more sophisticated meat dishes.

About Herdade do Peso

Herdade do Peso is located in Pedrogão within the Vidígueira commune – a name recognised for its abundance of grape vines, such is the importance of this agriculture in this region. Herdade do Peso occupies a total area of 457 hectares. 160 hectares are currently planted and include 152 acres of red grapes (Aragonês, Trincadeira Alfrocheiro, Periquita, Moreto and Touriga Nacional) and only eight hectares of white grapes (Antão Vaz and Arinto). Both current and contemporary, Herdade do Peso offers varying levels of style and complexity, from celebrated blended wines to the single grape varietals.
