Pietradolce Etna Rosso 2017
Pietradolce Etna Rosso is a red wine produced on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy. It is made from 100% Nerello Mascalese, an indigenous grape variety specific to the region. The volcanic soil and unique climate of Mount Etna contribute to the wine’s distinct character, making it a highly sought-after and acclaimed wine.
On the palate, it's medium-bodied with lively acidity, balanced tannins, and flavors of red fruits, herbs, and minerals.
Produced on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, an active volcano that contributes unique mineral characteristics to the wine.
Grapes are grown on pre-phylloxera vines, meaning they survived the late 19th century pest that devastated European vineyards. These old vines produce concentrated grapes with low yields.
The wine is aged for 10-14 months in large oak barrels, allowing it to develop complexity without overpowering oak flavors.
