Rum & Cane French Overseas XO is a premium rum blend crafted from aged distillates sourced from two French overseas territories: Martinique and Réunion Island. It features a unique combination of both agricole rum (made from fresh sugarcane juice) and molasses-based rum, each distilled in column stills. The rums are aged for a minimum of 6 years in a mix of French and American oak casks, taking full advantage of the tropical aging environment. Bottled at 43% ABV, this rum is non-chill filtered, with no added sugar or coloring, offering a pure and authentic expression of terroir-driven French rum traditions. The blend is presented in a distinctive onion-shaped bottle inspired by 17th–18th-century maritime trade vessels.
On the nose, this XO rum opens with fresh sugarcane, crème caramel, and a touch of cinnamon, supported by layers of tropical fruit such as mango and pineapple. Hints of almond pastry, candied citrus, and subtle herbal notes add depth and complexity. The palate is full and smooth, delivering flavors of raisins, licorice, marzipan, and juicy stone fruits, all balanced by gentle oak spice and a silky texture. The finish is long and refined, leaving a lingering impression of candied fruit, baking spices, and delicate woody resin.
