Another excellent single cask bottling selected by Douglas Laing here, this time from North British Distillery for its Clan Denny range. This single grain whisky was aged in a single refill barrel for 18 years before being bottled up at 48% without any chill-filtration and with its natural colour.

Tasting Note

The nose is aromatic and full of old sweetie bag scents with dark treacle-y molasses and muscovado sugar. The palate is tannic, showing dark macerated raisins and sultanas amongst rich spices, cereal and a distinct very dark Italian coffee style. Catch all that same backdrop on the long finish, plus barley sugar and burnt citrus fruit zest.
