Woodlands Clementine 2020
A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Malbec, 13% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Elevated aromas of blackcurrant, liquorice and black olive combine with cigar box, earth and spicy dried herb notes. Bold and full in body, the rich palate has cascading waves of ripe blackcurrant rolling across it which are complexed by liquorice, cigar box, black olive, earth and spicy dried herb elements. A sturdy tannin structure firms up the finish lending some grip to the long robust, spicy black fruited aftertaste.
“Aromas of wet slate and black fruit with blackcurrants, some leaves and violets, as well as forest wood. Complex and so youthful. The palate has a very supple, defined, layered and fresh feel with dark-plum and blackcurrant flavors set in fine tannins. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec, petit verdot and cabernet franc. Drink over the next decade. Screw cap.”

About Woodlands Wines
Established in 1973 by David & Heather Watson on Caves Road in Wilyabrup, Woodlands was one of the first five vineyards to be planted in the Margaret River Wine Region. Woodlands vineyards are dry grown and maintained by hand using traditional methods. In the winery, all Woodlands wines spend up to two years in the finest French oak barrels. Each wine is made with minimal intervention, and is carefully blended by the Watson family. Aiming to create wines to emulate the great vineyards of Bordeaux, Woodlands is one of only ten Margaret River wineries with the highest possible rating from James Halliday, and the Woodlands Cabernet Sauvignon rated ‘Outstanding’ in the Langton’s Classification of Fine Wines.
