Gran Bassano Rosso is a vermouth based on Merlot, red wine from French grape variety cultivated since the end of the 19th century in the DOC area of which the city of Bassano is part. Merlot is particularly appreciated for its pleasant fruity notes. The unique aromatic structure of Gran Bassano Rosso is the result of a masterly infusion of over twenty botanicals, among which stand out the holy thistle and the yarrow moscata, characteristic plants from Bassano area, as well as rhubarb, vanilla, pimento, ginger and liquorice. The wonderful balanced aromatics and complex flavours makes the Gran Bassano Rosso a lovely and unique red vermouth to sip with a twist of lemon over ice, or a brilliant addition to popular cocktails like Negronis and Manhattans.

About Poli Distillerie

This family business started back in 1898 when door to door distilling of pomace – the used skins of pressed grapes – in a small still was carried out on a cart. Poli is now commissioned by the likes of prestigious wine producers such as Sassicaia to convert their pomace to high grade grappa. The Poli distillery uses an innovative double boiler vacuum still known as “Cryospea”.
