Woodlands Brook Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 White
Chardonnay at Woodlands Brook resides on a gentle south facing slope similar to the ‘Chloe’ block at Woodlands – sandy loam over clay soils provides the perfect environment for the vines to flourish.
Rockmelon and white peaches are encased in a delicate perfume of honeysuckle and jasmine, are the muse for the painter’s brush. On the palate grapefruit, toasted almonds and a trace of honey create the perfect balance between acidity and oak. Soft, creamy, and with a defined finish of texture and purpose.
Match this wine with pan seared crispy skin barramundi and grilled asparagus, or with crumbed eggplant and gremolata.
About Woodlands Wines
Established in 1973 by David & Heather Watson on Caves Road in Wilyabrup, Woodlands was one of the first five vineyards to be planted in the Margaret River Wine Region. Woodlands vineyards are dry grown and maintained by hand using traditional methods. In the winery, all Woodlands wines spend up to two years in the finest French oak barrels. Each wine is made with minimal intervention, and is carefully blended by the Watson family. Aiming to create wines to emulate the great vineyards of Bordeaux, Woodlands is one of only ten Margaret River wineries with the highest possible rating from James Halliday, and the Woodlands Cabernet Sauvignon rated ‘Outstanding’ in the Langton’s Classification of Fine Wines.
